Artist Statement

My paintings and collages are in acrylic and mixed media on canvas, paper, and wood. These materials give my work a layered, textured quality. My work is informed by nature and art, but it is my interaction with the materials that interests me most. Sometimes an image, color, sound, texture, or memory can influence a painting. My paintings are a constant series of discoveries. No two are the same. I love to work in the moment, not knowing what is around the corner. I enjoy incorporating all the doubt, humor, and contradictions of the day into my work.

AS in Design, West Valley College, Saratoga CA

Studied with Claire Verbiest, Mike Bailey, and several other Bay Area artists.
